🛸 DoseFlow UK Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DoseFlow UK mobile application ("App") provided by DoseFlow UK ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Medical Disclaimer: DoseFlow UK is a medication reminder and care coordination tool. It is NOT a medical device, clinical decision support tool, or substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use DoseFlow UK.
- By using the App, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the capacity to agree to these Terms.
- DoseFlow UK is not intended for use by children or for managing the medication of children without adult supervision.
2. Account Registration
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must not share your account credentials with others.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at security@carecircle.app.
3. Description of Service
DoseFlow UK provides the following features:
- Medication management — Add, edit, and track medications with dosage, frequency, and schedule
- Dose reminders — Timely notifications when medications are due
- Dose logging — Record when medications are taken
- Refill tracking — Monitor medication supply and get refill alerts
- Drug interaction alerts — Warnings about known interactions between your medications
- Barcode scanning — Identify medications by scanning packaging barcodes
- Care circles — Coordinate with family and caregivers via encrypted, end-to-end synced groups
- Nudge alerts — Send check-in reminders to care circle members
- SMS escalation — Alert emergency contacts when a member misses medication (requires SMS permission)
- Health Connect integration — Display health metrics (steps, heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose, weight, exercise) alongside medication adherence
- Resource pages — Links to NHS and other trusted health resources for common conditions
- Wear OS companion — Medication reminders on compatible smartwatches
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent medication information
- Use the care circle features to harass, stalk, or intimidate other users
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App's encryption or security features
- Use nudge alerts or SMS escalation for spam, abuse, or non-health-related purposes
- Share your care circle invite codes with unauthorised individuals
- Attempt to access other users' data through the sync infrastructure
5. Care Circles
- Creator role: The person who creates a care circle has read and write access. They can add medications, tasks, and manage circle membership.
- Member role: Members who join a care circle have read-only access to medication data and can receive nudge alerts.
- Encryption: All circle data is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Only circle members with the shared key can decrypt data. We cannot access your circle data.
- Liability: You are responsible for the accuracy of medication data you add to a circle. We are not liable for consequences of incorrect medication information entered by users.
- Leaving a circle: You may leave a care circle at any time. Your local data remains on your device; sync stops.
6. Medical Disclaimer
- DoseFlow UK is not a medical device and is not regulated by the FDA, MHRA, or any health authority.
- DoseFlow UK does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
- DoseFlow UK does not provide clinical decision support, dosage calculations, or medical advice.
- Drug interaction alerts are based on publicly available data and may not be complete or current. Always verify with a pharmacist or doctor.
- Health Connect data displayed in the App is for informational purposes only and should not be used for medical decisions.
- Resource pages link to external health information (e.g., NHS.uk). We are not responsible for the accuracy of external content.
- Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.
7. SMS Escalation
- The SMS escalation feature sends text messages to phone numbers you designate as emergency contacts.
- SMS messages are sent locally via Android SmsManager — they are not routed through our servers.
- You are responsible for obtaining consent from your emergency contacts before adding their phone numbers.
- Standard SMS charges from your mobile carrier may apply.
- We are not liable for failed SMS delivery due to network issues, incorrect numbers, or carrier limitations.
8. Data and Privacy
Our data practices are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. Key points:
- Care circle data is end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read it
- Health Connect data is read-only, displayed locally, and never synced or uploaded
- We do not sell your data or use health data for advertising
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time
9. Intellectual Property
- The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by DoseFlow UK and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without prior written consent.
- Medication data, interaction data, and health information accessed through the App are the property of their respective owners (NHS, Ampoule, Open Food Facts, etc.).
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with or uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication and encrypted data sync
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notifications
- Firebase Analytics — Anonymised usage analytics
- Android Health Connect — Health data display (read-only)
- Ampoule API — Medication barcode lookup
- Open Food Facts — Product barcode lookup (fallback)
- Google ML Kit — On-device barcode scanning
These services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or practices.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- Medication reminders will always be delivered on time
- SMS escalation messages will always be delivered
- Drug interaction alerts will be complete or accurate
- Health Connect data will be accurate or up-to-date
- The App is suitable for any particular medical condition or treatment
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PILLMATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the App
- Any missed medication reminders or failed notifications
- Any inaccuracy in drug interaction alerts or medication data
- Any unauthorised access to your data
- Any decisions made based on information in the App
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DoseFlow UK and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
14. Termination
- You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
- You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account).
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification or email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
